Dear reader/person looking at letters and pretending to read:
this is a story, kinda gettin long and i write bits here and there when i am very tired, or bored, you will see the result.
Well now this one fine Sunday evening in June when gurgi decided to take a walk up to the local forest. The sun had just finished setting and was still quite warm from the afternoon?s high of 30, which made it perfect ambling temperature. It was a little dry out though, so she decided to shut her eyes to conserve their moisture for the latter of the trip when she would have something interesting to look at. It was ok though because she could feel the path beneath her feet (she wasn't wearing any shoes) so she knew where she was going, it was a familiar wood. After what seemed like about 30 minutes or so of walking into the forest she opened her eyes to re-assess her surroundings. At which point she realised she was lost, what a dumb idea to shut her eyes, she had Visine for a reason! But this was a part of the forest she had never been all the trees seemed to be out of a book, so large, such great trunks. In front of her was the biggest tree she had ever seen. She looked up, her neck cracked, and no where to be seen was the top. Well, her first instinct was to climb, she walked up to the trunk. She figured it would take her a minute to walk around, no way would her arms fit. This slightly dampened the plan to find the people living at the top. Or the ones in her imagination. The realisation once again struck her in the back of the head, she was lost, in a forest, and didn?t know which way lead out. Or, she thought, if there was a way out, maaybe it was one of those circular forests, like in Zelda when only one exact route will lead you to where you are going, and you have to follow your heart(the music). Although she wasn?t trying to reach some forest temple. Think. She sat at the base of the tree, trying to orient herself. Somewhere off in the distance she could hear shuffling, she wasn?t one to be fond of the dark, in fact she was sometimes petrified of it, she had to put chairs in front of her closet door at night. Gurgi realised that she wasn?t going to find her way home in this light, if anything she would make it worse. So she settled into a crevice of the trunk so that she could see all open sides to make sure she was safe. She was very very frightened and her imagination was wheeling with horrible ideas of what was lurking just outside her range of sight, but somehow she felt tired and try as she might, she couldn?t keep vigil and soon drifted off into a deep dreamless sleep. At the smell of smoke she was drawn quickly out of her world. In the clearing at her feet there now stood a wooden stump, which was previously not there. And on top of this stump sat a very funny character. This man, if you could call it that, was about 2 or 3 feet tall, and dressed in a green shirt and pair of pants that somehow were a little too short for him. On his feet were little green wellies, just like the ones she had at home(maybe he stole them from her). He had one of those funny farmers hats that look like someone sat on a baseball hat, and was smoking a wooden pipe. Well, not really smoking it, but bubbles of some odd liquid rose from the spout as he puffed away. The bubbles were thick, so it seemed that if you were to reach out and grasp one in your hand it would linger still. The substance seemed to be slightly tinted green and seemed to blend into the forest, and merge with the trees but never pop. Gurgi sat up, she was a little drowsy although very wary. She could not for some reason force herself to move quickly, instead she moved carefree like she was relaxed and not trying to strain herself. The little man looked up at her from a little brown book entitled "Guerrillas"(now this word is one that i have been meaning to find the meaning of for quite a while, but have not, due to the sheer weight of my dictionary). he smiled and said "why hello there gurgi, i've been expecting you for quite a while now."
"You walk slower than my good friend yurtle, and he's a turtle so believe me you are really really damn slow". The funny looking little man was very serious. At that point he took another couple puffs from his pipe appearing to be deep in thought. "Come along now then," he hopped lightly off the stump and guestured for her to follow him. They wandered over to one of the larger trees encircling the clearing. Gurgi had no idea what was going on, she opened her mouth to ask who he was when he said, "Fivvy, that's with two Vs, my mother always thought it sounded more exciting with a double V, i have no idea why, it is pronounced exactly the same, oh well. I'll answer your questions in a moment, you should have some tea first, for now just keep quiet."
This little man, let me call him a goblin, since i have just recieved the labyrinth for xmas. So this goblin, he walked fast for his height, and gurgi found herself having to jog to keep up. and it certainly did not help that the goblin had chosen an intricate path throught the dense dark forest, over logs, under vines and rocks. it seemed like and incredibly magical place to gurgi but she barely had time to look around. after about 30 minutes they came to what seemed to be the largest tree gurgi had ever seen. the tree seemed unblemished except for one small knob. Around the tree, hovering in the air were little orange and blue glowing fuzzy blobs. like mist but it seemed to be controlled by something inside.
"Faries, they'll give you a hand if ur ever lost in these parts. Step in," he said opening a door that appeared by the knob.
